Good Morning from KRBC Meteorologist Chris Whited...* The upper level low pressure area continues to move away but may still be close enough to kick off an isolated thunderstorm this afternoon or evening. Otherwise expecte a mix of clouds and sunshine with highs in the upper 80s and the lower 90s. Becoming partly cloudy tonight with lows in the lower 70s.
* High pressure will build into the region Friday and into the weekend. We will begin to dry out and warm up as temperatures warm into the upper 90s across West Central Texas. Expect a mostly sunny sky each day. Quiet at night with lows in the lower to middle 70s.
* Hot Weather Safety: Medical experts remind everyone to be extremely careful when outside in the hot and humid weather. Some safety tips recommended include drinking plenty of water and taking frequent breaks in a cool spot. Also be sure to check on the elderly and your pets. You should also wear light colored clothing and don't forget to apply the sunscreen regularly. If you can you should up off your outdoor activities until early in the morning and into the evening to avoid the peak heating hours. An average of 175 Americans succumb to hot weather during the summer months across the country.
