Good Morning from KRBC Meteorologist Chris Whited...
* Scattered thunderstorm chances will continue across the Big Country, the Northern Heartland and the Northern Concho Valley today. Locally heavy rainfall is possible with storms that develop so watch for urban, arroyo and small stream flooding. Otherwise expect a mostly cloudy and humid day with highs ranging from the lower to middle 80s. Scattered storms will continue for tonight across the area with lows in the upper 60s/low 70s under a mostly cloudy sky. Locally heavy rainfall is still possible tonight.
* Shower and thunderstorm chances will continue in the forecast for Friday and into the holiday weekend as moisture from Alex streams across Texas. Moisture influx and daytime heating combine to keep the rain chances going across the area. Mostly cloudy otherwise each day and again be on the lookout for flooding as locally heavy rainfall is possible. Highs range from the middle to upper 80s and into the lower 90s early next week with overnight lows in the upper 60s into the weekend.
* Hot Weather Safety: Medical experts remind everyone to be extremely careful when outside in the very hot weather. Some safety tips recommended include drinking plenty of water and taking frequent breaks in a cool spot. Also be sure to check on the elderly and your pets. You should also wear light colored clothing and don't forget to apply the sunscreen regularly. If you can you should up off your outdoor activities until early in the morning and into the evening to avoid the peak heating hours. An average of 175 Americans succumb to hot weather during the summer months across the country.
