Good Morning from KRBC Meteorologist Chris Whited...
* Not as cold this morning as it has been the last several mornings. Temperatures starting out today here in the middle and upper 30s. Expect a partly cloudy day ahead, breezy and warm as temperatures climb into the lower 60s. Becoming mostly cloudy overnight as a cold front moves across the area. Rain chances are not looking so well with the system now but I'll go ahead and keep a stray shower possible overnight, mainly across the far northern counties.
* Weekend: Clouds will decrease during the day on Friday and temperatures cooler we reach the lower 50s tomorrow. A few clouds around tomorrow night and colder with lows in the lower 30s. Partly cloudy and warmer on Saturday with highs in the upper 50s, falling into the upper 30s overnight. Clouds are back on Sunday with a good chance for rain showers and highs only near 50. Sunday night the shower chances will continue as lows drop into the lower and middle 30s. With temperatures that cold, we could see some wintry mix or light snow mix in with the rain. Models are still showing temperatures not cold enough for a major snow event but still something to keep an eye on the next few days.
* Next Week: Rain/Snow mix early on Monday morning changing over to just rain showers as we warm up into the upper 40s. Decreasing clouds with highs in the middle 50s on Tuesday and lower 60s by Wednesday.
* The Winter Outlook: The Climate Prediction Center indicates a moderate El NiƱo pattern continues to bring West Central Texas a wetter pattern here in the winter months. Increased wintry precipitation is possible depending on temperature trends. Equal chances of above or below normal temperatures remain possible for the area.
