July Showers Bring ... Cooler Temps

FROM KRBC CHIEF METEOROLOGIST RANDY TURNER .....

YOU DON'T THINK ABOUT JULY AS BEING WET BUT THIS WEEK, IT IS. SHOWERS ARE IN MY FORECAST THROUGH THURSDAY.

WHAT'S HAPPENING IS A CONSTANT FLOW OF WARM, MOIST GULF OF MEXICO AIR INTO SOUTH TEXAS - MOISTURE WHICH MOVES NORTHWARD INTO OUR AREA. SIMPLY HEAT IT UP AND OUT POP THE SHOWERS ALMOST LIKE CLOCK WORK. I'M EXPECTING NUMEROUS SHOWERS AND ISOLATED STORMS TUESDAY - AT LEAST A 30% CHANCE IF NOT GREATER TO THE SOUTH OF ABILENE. THE HEAVIEST RAINS, HOWEVER, WILL REMAIN ACROSS SOUTH TEXAS AND THE RIO GRANDE VALLEY.

MORE CLOUDS SHOULD TRANSLATE INTO SLIGHTLY COOLER TEMPERATURES ON TUESDAY - I'M FORECASTING UPPER 80'S TO NEAR 90. RAIN STAYS IN THE FORECAST THROUGH THURSDAY.

MONDAY NIGHT: PARTLY CLOUDY TO MOSTLY CLOUDY WITH SCATTERED SHOWERS. LOW NEAR 70. SOUTH WIND AT 5 TO 10.

TUESDAY: PARTLY CLOUDY TO MOSTLY CLOUDY WITH A GOOD CHANCE FOR SHOWERS AND ISOLATED STORMS. MOVEMENT WILL BE SOUTH TO NORTH. SOME COULD PRODUCE HEAVY DOWNPOURS BUT NONE ARE EXPECTED TO BECOME SEVERE. HIGH OF 89. SOUTHEAST WIND 10 TO 20.

TUESDAY NIGHT: PARTLY CLOUDY WITH SHOWERS IN THE AREA, LOW 70.
