There will be a drastic change in weather on Friday. Just when temperatures start to get warm around late morning or noon, BAM (as Emeril would say) - here comes the cold air! The cold air will be arriving across far northern counties of the Big Country by mid to late morning, come Frontiering into Abilene around noon, then proceed into the Coleman/Brownwood areas by mid-afternoon.
FOOTBALL FORECAST: Estimated kickoff temperature Friday night is 56.
By halftime 53, by end of the game 50. Dry, very windy, cold wind chills!!!
Dry weather should persist through the middle to end of next week. Another strong cold front is expected next Wednesday night or Thursday, possibly stronger than this week's front.
Thursday Night: Clear, low near 49. Southwest wind 5 to 10.
Friday: Mostly sunny, warming to near 70 by noon before temperatures begin a steady drop through the day to around 57 by sundown. North wind 20 to 30 with gusts. Wind chills will be in the 50's and 40's by late afternoon.
Friday Night: Clear and cold, low of 35. North wind 10 to 20.
Saturday: Sunny and 57.
Saturday Night: Clear and 32, possibly colder in low lying areas.
Sunday: Sunny and 66.
Monday through Wednesday: Mostly clear skies, highs 66-70, lows 42-46.
